Carlos Alperin
Managing Director

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carlos was educated in his homeland, before moving to Israel in 1971. A passion in arts and filmmaking saw Carlos attaining in 1977 a BA degree in Fine Arts from Betzalel School (Jerusalem) and in 1979 a Diploma in Film and TV from Beit Tzvi (Tel Aviv). Carlos travelled and worked widely in Asia and the Americas before moving to Brisbane, Australia, with his wife and daughter where he studied for a Masters in Film and Television at Griffith University. In 2002 Carlos founded Galloping Films as a boutique distribution and production company. He produced episodes of animated series such as COSMO KIDS, Winner of the Monte Miller Award by the Australian Writers’ Guild, and THE PUP PUPS, developed with Scottish TV.

In 2005-06 Carlos wrote and produced the multi-award winning documentary film RAUL THE TERRIBLE, a dangerously up-close portrait of Raul Castells, a man driven to change the world and a frightening insight into the politics of poverty in 21st century Argentina. Directed by twice Academy Award nominee David Bradbury, the film was screened on SBS (Australia), NHK (Japan). TV Cataluña (Spain), Radio Canada (Canada), Maori TV and The Documentary Channel (New Zealand). In 2009-10 Carlos produced the thriller ICU directed by Aash Aaron (Australia) and the comedy THE COST OF LIVING directed by Veronica Craven (United States). He is in the last stages of raising finance for the thriller DANCES WITH WEREWOLVES, a co production with Illusion Studios (Australia/Norway) and Hanover (United States), the thriller/horror NOWHERE ELSE with Forescene Films (Australia), the documentary series EATING WITH THE ANCESTORS with Intuition Films & Docs (France), the feature length documentary ANATOMY OF POWER with Fairplay Films (Ireland), and the feature film THE HEART OF A SPY.

Carlos Alperin represents documentaries, feature films and TV programs from 70 international producers, 4 international broadcasters and 3 international distributors. As a Producer/Distributor, Carlos provides a powerful combination of creative energy and business savvy. He is an outstanding negotiator with an experienced eye for content and talent.
