The Heart of a Spy
Since childhood Soo-Jin Jung has been fueled with feelings of revenge and hatred of all things Japanese after witnessing the extermination of her family. Adopted and tutored under North Korean General Kim Kwan (the elite soldier who rescued her from her captors) Soo-Jin immediately commences training to become one of Asia's most elite assassins and undercover spies.
Soo-Jin's current mission is to seek out Yoshi Suzuki, a rogue Japanese computer programmer, who has access to secret missile launch codes General Kwan needs to launch an unprovoked Japanese missile attack on his homeland. Frustrated by the new North Korean conciliatory attitude towards the West and the South, General Kwan's goal is to provoke South Koreas retaliation against its former enemy and bring rapidly to Korea's reunification.
But nothing is ever as easy as it seems... Not only is Soo-Jin's cold heart unexpectedly melted by the innocent charm and compassion of her Japanese "mark" (Yoshi) whom she finds it impossible not to fall for, but things become complicated when she discovers that Yoshi is an undercover agent himself whose agency has made her their prime target.
With their true identities exposed, the unlikely pair quickly fall into a perilous game of danger and desire as Soo-Jin's new ally and lover reveals to her that her childhood abduction was actually an elaborate fake; that the spy agency she works for is in fact a rogue terrorist cell not related to the North Korean government; and that General Kwan, the man she has followed and trusted like a father all her life, has fed her nothing but lies and was actually responsible for the killing of her family.
Unable to grasp who she is or what she stands for anymore, Soo-Jin is forced to reevaluate her entire life as the World sits in the balance, poised for War.
