P-Max
Pinoy Music Max is produced in English by The Moon Group, a Filipino/Australian music production company based in Manila.
The P-MAX series is structured by 3 interlinking plots and themes:
- A Soap Opera – ‘Soapbox’
- Original Pinoy Music – OPM music videos from the hottest bands
- Alien Conspiracy - led by Max and friends
SOAPBOX
‘Soapbox’ is a wacky Soap Opera about a dysfunctional and very weird family, The MAX Family. Max, a reclusive genius from Outer Space plans to exploit ‘Soapbox’ massive audience interrupting the program to broadcast his own agenda: a mix of random thoughts and alien conspiracy theories of which Original Pinoy Music is at the heart. Max believes that the characters within ‘SoapBox’ are his personalities as well and he has sent a spy named Brent to star in the show. How long can Max from Outer Space keep up this interference before the Maxes from Earth decide to fight back? There may be a large scale cat fight - not for world domination, but for control of ‘SoapBox’ airtime.
OPM
P-Max features a mixture of R&B, Rock, Pop and Ska genres within OPM. The award-winning bands whose music videos are presented on P-Max include:
- Bamboo, the winner of "Artist of the Year", "Song of the Year” for 'Noypi' at the MTV Pilipinas 2004 Awards, and the "Best Commercial Video" for their "Fiestamazing" video at the 2005 MTV Pilipinas Awards.
- Rivermaya, winners of "Favourite Song" for 'Balisong' and "Favourite Group" at the 2005 awards.
- New rock star Kitchie Nadal who won the "Chart Attack Song of the Year" award and has a platinum-selling album.
- South Border, the R&B band whose latest album went Gold within weeks of release.
- The Ska band Brownbeat Allstars who have recently performed at the NU107's Independence Day Sessions.
ALIEN CONSPIRACY
Max is a high tech hologram put on the dark side of the moon by a master race thousands of years ago and set to 'switch on' when human technology reached the digital era. This was initiated 12,000 years ago, when the lost continents of Lemuria and Atlantis raged a war. Lemuria was destroyed and the surviving human beings learned a 'secret word' that will trigger the rise of a huge robotic army to defeat the Atlantians. Max and his team randomly intercept the popular TV soapie ‘SoapBox’ to attract millions of people to eventually listen to the ‘secret word.’ But, of course the Atlantians are hell bent on stopping Max.
