Máximo and Lucila have promised to love each till death draws them apart. When Lucila dies in a tragic accident Maximo’s world collapses. The doctor who treated Lucila persuades Máximo to donate his wife’s organs and her heart is given to Luján, who married Arturo on her death bed, a few hours before the transplant. Arturo is a 50 year-old man with a dark past.

A few months later, Luján and Máximo, unaware of who the other one is, meet by chance. They immediately are attracted to each other, however neither of them want to start a new relationship. She is married and considers herself a loyal wife, and Máximo, still in trauma after his wife’s death, wants to live his life without ever falling in love again.

At the same time, Olivia, Arturo’s daughter from his first marriage, appears. She is a rebellious teenager who becomes obsessed with Máximo as soon as she meets him. She seduces him and falls madly in love with him without realizing that her main rival is the very same woman her father is married to.
