Most bands are put together by fluke or fate. Rock ‘n roll bands have to endure crooked promoters, rowdy fans, dirty motel rooms, crappy food, feuds with other bands, feuds from within and criticism from well-meaning friends and family. As if being in a rock band weren’t bad enough, the girls of Tight have to deal with their controversial day jobs as well; all the members are porn stars!
Tight is, to quote lead singer Monica Mayhem, “a kick-ass, all-girl, hard-rock band. Think Go-Go’s meet Metallica.” The four member rock band came together in Las Vegas where each hopes they can make the transition from porn star to rock star. “I don’t know which my parents hate more,” lead guitarist Layla Labelle says. “That I make adult movies or that I’m in a rock band!.”
Porn isn’t the only thing the girls of Tight have in common; each professes a hatred for prissy girl bands. “Has anything ever sucked harder than The Spice Girls?” drummer Alicia Andrews wonders. While other girls their age grew up listening to The Bangles and Madonna, the members of Tight were grooving to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. “If it doesn’t peel the paint off walls, what’s the point?” bassist Tuesday Cross asks.
